Our first visit to Panama was very spontaneous and even more crazy! In the course of 5 days, we managed to hop out of a moving taxi, get caught up in a carnival happening randomly inside of the mall, and barter a meal of fresh fish down to a ridiculously cheap price. Oh and the metro costs $0.34 each way! And their empanadas are so so delicious. Like, really.

Panama is full of wonderful juxtapositions; Muslim children studying alongside Hindu and Christian children, traditional locals dressed in enchanting handmade garments blending with the modernly dressed work crowds in a busy downtown street, colonial architecture amidst a rapidly growing metropolis, classic latin music remixed with a reggaeton beat (i'm so here for it). From the vibrant beads worn by the Kuna women, to the fresh cuisine, we were floored at how cultural extremities mixed so harmoniously.
